Another US organized flight departed from Lebanon on Thursday and arrived in Germany on Friday morning local time, according to a State Department spokesperson. The flight, which was only about a third full, had the capacity to carry 300 passengers but departed with just 97 passengers onboard.
Two other government organized flights have left from Beirut, heading to Istanbul. The State Department has assisted approximately 350 U.S. citizens, U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents (LPRs), and their immediate family members depart Lebanon via State Department organized flights.
State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that the agency will continue to organize these flights as long as the security situation remains challenging, commercial options are limited, and there is demand for such flights.
