The US Embassy in the Dominican Republic issued a warning on Tuesday regarding potentially dangerous surf and rip current conditions as Hurricane Beryl approaches. The embassy urged American citizens to stay informed and follow instructions from local authorities to ensure their safety.

According to the National Hurricane Center, tropical storm conditions are expected to impact the warning area later today. The outer bands of Beryl are forecasted to bring rainfall, with southern portions of the island likely to receive 2 to 6 inches of rain by Wednesday.

Tropical storm warnings have been issued for the south and west ends of the island. Additionally, the local emergency operations center has raised red alerts for Pedernales and Barahona provinces in anticipation of the storm's impact.

The embassy emphasized the potential for 'life-threatening' swells along the southern coast of the island. These dangerous conditions are expected to escalate as the storm approaches, posing a significant risk to residents and visitors in the area.

Ahead of the storm's arrival, it is crucial for individuals in the Dominican Republic to stay vigilant, heed warnings from authorities, and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this challenging weather event.
