US airman who was arrested for Trump impeachment protest is ‘ordered into pretrial confinement’ again after reportedly refusing to wear uniform

US Air Force Major Jason Watson is currently being held in “pretrial confinement” following his recent arrest while on duty. This arrest happened just one day after the airman participated in an exclusive CNN interview where he voiced strong criticism of President Donald Trump. While the situation is still evolving, the official word from the military is that the case remains under active investigation.

According to CNN, the airman was ordered into custody on Tuesday. A spokesperson for the US Air Force confirmed this status, noting that as of Wednesday evening, formal charges had not yet been filed. The Hill reported that Watson is currently being held at a county facility in Maryland under a military hold. It is a complex situation that highlights the tension between personal political expression and the strict regulations governing active-duty military personnel.
