Police have launched an urgent search to trace a 14-year-old American teenager who has been reported missing in Glasgow while visiting family in Scotland.
Anekah Wissinger was last seen on Buchanan Street at around 3.15pm on January 18, close to the Buchanan Galleries shopping centre.
She had been with her parents but had left them for a short time to purchase food at a local shop - and has not been seen since.
Officers in the Greater Glasgow Division are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare as the American teen - over visiting family in the Inverclyde area - is not familiar with the local area.
She is described as a white female 5ft 7ins tall of average build with long bleached blonde hair with dark roots and green/blue tips.
When she was last seen Anekah was wearing a yellow cardigan, black top, light blue jeans and black and white trainers. She speaks with an American accent.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Concerns are growing for Anekah as she is unfamiliar with the local area and has failed to make any contact with family since the time last seen."
Anyone with knowledge of where she might be has been asked to contact the police on 101, quoting incident 2695 of January 18 2022.
Concerned locals have taken to social media to share a police appeal hundreds of times.
One person said: "Shared. Hope this girl is found safe and well asap."
