A number of popular kids' clothing items sold in stores across Ireland have been urgently recalled over safety concerns.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission issued an alert on their website urging customers to stop using the affected items. Retailer Next has recalled shoes over a tripping hazard, while Zara Kids has recalled baby shirts due to issues that could lead to children choking, and Dunnes Stores has recalled baby grows due to a risk of strangulation.
Parents are being urged to stop using these products immediately and keep them out of reach of children. Here's a list of all the recalled kids' clothing items, and whether or not you are entitled to a refund.

Next Infant T-Bar Patent PU Bow Shoe
In a statement on their website, the CCPC said: "NEXT Retail Ltd is carrying out a recall of NEXT Infant T-Bar Patent PU Bow Shoe.
"The potential risk associated with the product is that of injuries as the Velcro on the shoe may fail causing the strap to become undone creating a tripping hazard which could lead to cuts or abrasions."
The brand is NEXT, and the type/number of model are T36725 and A73410. The batch number and the barcode are unknown.
According to the CCPC, there are approximately 336 affected products in the Republic of Ireland. They advised parents what they can do if they have bought the product.
"If you believe that you may have purchased an affected product, discontinue use immediately and keep it out of the reach of children. Please contact Next Ireland to arrange a full refund."
Zara Kids Baby Blue Shirt
This week a product recall has been issued for a Zara Kids, Blue Baby Shirt with sleeves due to choking fears. It is understood that around 591 affected products have been sold in Ireland.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission said: "The risk associated with the product is that of choking due to insufficient attachment of some of the buttons on the garment, a button may become loose which may be swallowed by a child which could cause them to choke."
The brand is Zara Kids, and the type/number of the model is 6048/551/400/I2022. The CCPC has said the batch number is unknown.
The bar codes of the affected products are: 0604855140009, 0604855140012, 0604855140018, 0604855140024, 0604855140036, 0604855140048, 0604855140060.
Parents who may have bought this product are being warned to stop using it immediately, and to keep it out of reach of children. Customers can contact Zara via their Customer Service team by calling 01 416 1024 or by visiting any Zara store to process your return and subsequent refund.
Dunnes Children’s Sleep and Grow Bag
Dunnes Stores has recalled all of its Children’s Sleep and Grow Bag products due to possible discomfort. According to the notice on the CCPC's website, the baby grow can rash and irritation as the neck opening of the product is generally smaller than the recommended specification.
The brand is Dunnes Stores. The type/number of model is style numbers 6454933, 6454934, 6454935. The batch number is unknown.
The bar codes for the relevant products are:

- Style 6454934 – 5099014380517, 5099014380524, 5099014380531
- Style 6454935 – 5099014466327, 5099014466334, 5099014466341
The sales period for the products within the Republic of Ireland was from 03 March 2023 to 17 April 2023.
There are approximately 6,387 affected products in the Republic of Ireland. If you purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately and keep it out of the reach of children.
