A woman who vanished overnight while on a dog walk has been traced.

Joanne Glass, 52, disappeared from the Broomfield Crescent area of Edinburgh at 10pm on Sunday, January 22.

Following an extensive search operation, officers from Police Scotland have confirmed she is safe and well.

Members of the public have been thanked for sharing the online appeal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We can confirm that Joanne Glass, 52, who was reported missing from Edinburgh has been traced safe and well.

"Thank you to everyone who shared our earlier appeal."
