Karhal: Samajwadi Party candidate Tej Pratap Singh Yadav on Saturday won the Karhal Assembly seat in Uttra Pradesh bypoll by a margin of 14725 votes, according to Election Commission of India's data.
Tej Pratap get over one lakh votes
Tej Pratap Yadav garnered total 104304 votes, defeating his nearest rival BJP's Anujesh Pratap Singh who could secure 88,670 votes.

BSP candidate comes distant third
BSP's Avanish Kumar Shakya came distant third as he got only 8409 votes.
The by-election for this seat was necessitated after Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav was elected to the Lok Sabha in general elections held earlier this year.
