The University of Hyderabad (UoH)’s School of Medical Sciences has entered into Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Infection Control Academy of India (IFCAI) and the L.V. Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) on Monday.
Both the MoUs from UoH were signed by the Registrar Devesh Nigam in the presence of Vice-Chancellor B J Rao in the presence of the Director, Centre for Distance and Virtual Learning (CDVL), S. Jeelani.
A Diploma in Infection Prevention & Control program is being offered through the CDVL, UoH through the IFCAI represented by its director and honorary professor, UoH Ranga Reddy Burri, joint secretary-IFCAI Pranav Kumar and course moderator Spoorthy. The School of Medical Sciences was represented by the Dean Geeta and course Coordinators – Shamanna and M. Varalakshmi.
A virtual one-year Diploma in Community Eye Health Program is also starting this year through CDVL with the LVPEI’s GPR – GPR International Centre for Advancement of Rural Eyecare (ICARE) which is a WHO collaborating centre for prevention of blindness in India and a global leader in clinical ophthalmology services, training and research as well as a model for global bindness control programs in community eye health.
GPR-ICARE was represented by its director Dr. Rohit Khanna, associate director, education programs and coordinator Dr. M. Srinivas and head community eye health programs Jachin David Williams, said a press release.
