'Unstoppable' - Ex-Manchester United striker makes confident Marcus Rashford prediction after poor form

Louis Saha has backed Marcus Rashford to rediscover his form at Manchester United, and insists he will become “unstoppable”.

Rashford has struggled to hit the heights he enjoyed earlier in his career over the past year. The England international found himself dropping down the pecking order last season after suffering a major drop in form.

The 24-year-old though was given the nod by Erik ten Hag to start United’s opening game of the 2022/23 against Brighton on Sunday. Rashford though again failed to impress, missing two big chances during the second half.

A continued lack of form could put his place in the side for the rest of the campaign under major doubt. Former United striker Saha though believes it is “only a matter of time” before Rashford is back to his best at Old Trafford.

“The longer it takes him to get out of this bad form, then the more you start to worry,” Saha said via ThePuntersPage. “But he has too much talent and he’s a great kid.

“You can see that he loves the club, he’s very committed to the club, and he doesn’t talk to the press in any nonsense way. It’s only a matter of time before he’s back to his best and scoring goals for fun. When he clicks again, then I think he will be unstoppable.

“He’s had to come back from an injury and has to rediscover that confidence. Once he does that, I think he’ll continue to improve and improve.

“I think sometimes he shows he’s more frustrated than he should be, but that’s just part of football when you have the talent, and it isn’t quite clicking. If he keeps working hard and tries to enjoy his football more it will come back, I’m sure about that.”
