‘Unmissable drama’ promised as EastEnders matriarch departs soap

Kellie Bright has announced her departure from the BBC soap EastEnders after 13 years, saying that it is "now the right time" to say goodbye.
Bright, 50, has portrayed the character Linda Carter since December 2013, becoming a central figure as an owner of the Queen Vic pub.
Her character has been involved in numerous significant storylines, including sexual assault, murder, infidelity, and struggles with alcoholism.
Bright made the decision over a year ago but agreed to extend her stay to participate in an "exciting storyline" planned by the producers.
Executive producer Ben Wadey praised Bright's contribution and promising an "unmissable drama" for Linda Carter's departure.
