Universal Pictures has made adjustments to its release plans for two highly anticipated horror films from Blumhouse.
The werewolf thriller, Wolf Man, directed by Leigh Whannell and starring Christopher Abbott, has been delayed by three months. Originally set for release on Oct. 25, 2024, the film will now hit theaters on Jan. 17, 2025. Wolf Man follows the story of a man whose family is targeted by a dangerous predator and aims to reinvent the classic Universal monster.
Blumhouse and Motel Movies are the production companies behind Wolf Man, with Jason Blum serving as the producer. The movie also features Julia Garner and was initially set to star Ryan Gosling.
On the other hand, The Woman in the Yard, another Blumhouse project directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and starring Danielle Deadwyler, has been removed from the release calendar. The studio plans to announce a new release date for this mysterious horror film at a later time.
Plot details for The Woman in the Yard are being kept under wraps, but the film boasts a script from Sam Stefanak. Blum and Stephanie Allain are the producers, with Collet-Serra, Deadwyler, Gabrielle Ebron, Scott Greenberg, and James Moran serving as executive producers.
Christopher Abbott, known for his roles in 'Poor Things' and 'The Crowded Room,' stars in Wolf Man, while Danielle Deadwyler, acclaimed for her performance in 'Till,' leads The Woman in the Yard. Both actors have upcoming projects that are generating buzz in the entertainment industry.
As fans eagerly await the release of these two horror films, Universal Pictures continues to showcase its commitment to delivering captivating and innovative storytelling in the genre.
