Many people across Glasgow could see their payments cut if they fail to meet a new Universal Credit threshold.
Having come into affect on February 26, the Department for Work and Pensions is putting pressure on claimants to increase their wages until they reach the new level that's been set. Around 40 per cent of Universal Credit claimants have a job and are entitled to receive the benefit in addition to their current salary. However, the amount they have to earn has gradually been going up.
This means that people who fail to meet the latest work requirements could be sanctioned and have their benefits cut, reports Birmingham Live.
