Claimants of a string of benefits, including Universal Credit and PIP, are to get a one-off Christmas bonus from the DWP. A sum of £10 will be paid to bank accounts to help with costs during the festive season.
The bonus is in addition to claimants' normal payments, and also entirely separate to the cost of living measure brought in by the government. The Government says the tax-free £10 payment should enter bank accounts of those who are eligible during the first week of December, Birmingham Live reports.
Most people on Universal Credit should get the Christmas Bonus - but people who just get Universal Credit and no other benefits will not. People do not need to do anything to get the cash, it should arrive automatically.
