Scott Kirby, the CEO of United Airlines, has called out wealth inequality, the cost of living crisis and suggested an inheritance tax of up to 100%. These are positions you’re more likely to hear at a DSA meeting than from an airline CEO, so what gives?
Per NY Times, Kirby says he always tries to view things through his passengers’ eyes, and the 300% rise in United’s stock since he became CEO suggests the tactic is paying off. As he says: “For a long time, I said our goal is to be the best airline in the history of aviation. I think we’ve become the best, not at everything, but in totality, I think we’re the best.”
