Karel Geraerts has banned all mention of Rangers from the dressing room with next week's Champions League clash looming on the horizon.
The Belgian side welcome Gio van Bronckhorst and his team for the first leg on Tuesday as they hope to continue their fairytale rise to the top of the European game. They kicked off their domestic season with a draw at Sint-Truiden and have a clash with Charleroi tonight in the final match before their European campaign gets underway.
There is much excitement within the USG camp about the Euro tie with Rangers, so much so that Geraerts is having to take extreme measures to calm his team down. Geraerts took over from Felice Mazzu, who left to join Anderlecht in the summer, and he's already made his mark by ordering his men to forget about Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side...for now.
He explained: "Since the draw ten days ago, I have asked my players to keep these discussions about Rangers out of the dressing room. We will start talking about the game against Rangers from this weekend.
"The players here are sensible. They know they have to concentrate on the next fixture which is in the league. Europe will take care of itself."
