THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Union ministry of health and family welfare has taken a favourable stand on the long-pending demand of the state to set up an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
In a written reply given to MP K Muraleedharan by Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar, Union minister of state for health, it has been said that the Union health ministry has in-principle given the approval for the proposal of setting up AIIMS. The proposal has been forwarded to the Union finance ministry, which has to give the final approval.
