Two staff members of the United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR) were tragically among the 558 individuals who lost their lives in Lebanon on Monday. The UNHCR chief, Filippo Grandi, confirmed this devastating news on Tuesday.

Grandi expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of the two dedicated UNHCR employees and condemned the Israeli airstrikes that he believes are responsible for the deaths of numerous civilians. He emphasized that these airstrikes have been causing immense harm to innocent lives.
