LUCKNOW: It may have lost the MCD polls in Delhi to Aam Aadmi Party but the BJP is in no mood to press the panic button in UP where urban local bodies (ULB) elections are due in the coming weeks.
UP BJP chief Bhupendra Chaudhary said the party was “battle ready” and “would not concede any ground” to the opposition in the ULB polls. He claimed the party would perform better than 2017 elections when it had won 14 out of 16 mayoral seats and got majority in Nagar Palika Parishad (NPP) and Nagar Panchayat (NP) seats. This time, the mayoral seats have increased to 17 with the addition of Shahjahanpur.
