Taking to her Instagram stories after facing her biggest fear, she sais she was with her son Tadhg when she found the large spider crawling on her chest.
She said: “I’m going to have serious nightmares about spiders now. I was literally just here with Tadhg and Tadhg can confirm it.”
The Saturdays singer continued: “All I could see in my peripheral vision was this thing going across.
“I flicked it onto that blanket there and I scooped it up, brought it outside. I didn’t touch it but I happened to have a little thing to put it in.
“I took that picture of it and people are seeing it’s a false widow. We were googling images. Some people said it was a lucky spider - it wasn’t lucky for me! Lucky it didn’t bite me.
“I’m just terrified now that there is a few of them in the house. I’m terrified of spiders anyway, especially ones like that that can bite you and hurt you.
“Beware of the false widow. They’re in Thurles.”
After releasing the spider, she went back inside to make sure no spiders were left walking around indoors.
She shared: “I’m going to cover the house in peppermint spray this evening. Everywhere!”
The savvy trick is well known to rid homes of all bugs, including spiders of this size.
All you have to do is put some peppermint oil into a spray bottle, top it up with water and a small amount of dish soap.
This helps to repel spiders so make sure to spray it around any area in your home where you normally find spiders.
It will create a barrier without harming them as it is a brilliant natural repellent with most bugs hating mint.
