The UN peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (Monusco) says it has taken measures against eight peacekeepers suspected of "serious misconduct", adding that it "strongly condemns such behaviour".
According to internal Monusco documents, the eight peacekeepers deployed in Beni, eastern DRC, were arrested on 1 October and an officer suspended a week later in connection with alleged sexual exploitation and violence.
