The United Nations is urgently seeking financial support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) to aid Palestinian refugees in Gaza and other parts of the Middle East. The Secretary-General highlighted the critical funding gap faced by UNRWA, emphasizing the agency's essential role in providing education, healthcare, and development services to approximately 6 million Palestinian refugees.

UNRWA Commissioner General expressed concerns over the agency's limited funds, stating that current resources would only sustain operations until August. Despite the uncertainty, there is optimism that pledges from donors will bridge the financial shortfall and enable UNRWA to continue its operations through September.
