This Saturday marks two years since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, with Russia recently making small gains along the eastern front by taking the town of Avdikova. Despite this, Ukrainian forces continue to put up fierce resistance, particularly in the south. Concerns are mounting over Ukraine's ability to sustain this level of fighting long-term without increased support from the United States and its allies.

Former First Lady of Ukraine, Kateryna Yushchenko, reflected on the ongoing conflict, highlighting the devastating impact it has had on Ukrainians over the past decade. She emphasized the urgent need for continued assistance to prevent further loss of life and ensure Ukraine's security.

Yushchenko expressed gratitude for the support received from the United States and Europe, noting that it has been instrumental in degrading the Russian military's capabilities and reclaiming territory. She stressed that additional aid is crucial to ending the conflict and preventing further casualties.

Addressing concerns about the effectiveness of sanctions, Yushchenko called for stricter enforcement and the confiscation of Russian assets to bolster Ukraine's military and financial resources. She underscored the importance of international solidarity in confronting Russian aggression and safeguarding democratic values.

Yushchenko also warned against underestimating Putin's ambitions, emphasizing his desire to undermine Western influence and reshape the global order. She criticized those who downplay the threat posed by Putin and urged for a united front in countering his destabilizing actions.

In conclusion, Yushchenko reiterated the critical need for ongoing support from the international community to defend Ukraine's sovereignty and protect democratic principles. She emphasized that standing with Ukraine is not just a moral imperative but also essential for safeguarding global security and upholding the values of freedom and democracy.
