Britain is set for a cold and blustery start to the week, according to forecasters with temperatures forecast to plummet to -4C.
Those hoping for snow will be disappointed as two areas of low pressure moving across the Atlantic will bring "very wet and windy weather " to parts of the UK, says the Met Office, leading the national forecaster to issue a slew of weather warnings.
A yellow wind warning will cover areas of south-west England and South Wales for 12 hours from 6am on Monday, with gusts 70mph to 80mph expected in coastal areas.
One yellow rain warning will cover much of Northern Ireland between 6am and midnight on Monday, while a yellow ice warning also covers the north east of Scotland until 9.30am this morning.
