A heatwave is set to sweep the UK with an African plume expected to bring sweltering highs in the 30s.
Experts have predicted that the summer will be off to a blistering start, with the first heatwave predicted in the next couple of weeks. More African plumes are set to follow well into autumn, taking place through August and September, with temperatures hotter than normal for that time of year.
Metreologist James Madden of Exacta Weather has predicted that this summer could be similar to that of last year, where the mercury shot up to the 40s.
