Kentucky has now confirmed 94 measles cases in 2026, according to state public health figures reported Monday, Oct. 5, by WKYT and LEX18. That is 12 more cases than the 82 reported Sept. 28, and it extends what is already Kentucky's highest yearly measles total since 1991. Seven people have been hospitalized, and no deaths have been reported.
Growth is concentrated in western Kentucky. Christian County now has 44 cases, up from 36, and neighboring Trigg County has 23, up from 19. Together, the two counties account for more than seven of every 10 cases in the state.
