Brits face several several days of balmy temperatures with highs in the late 20Cs before the extreme temperatures arrive which could set a record hottest day ever in the UK.
Forecasters believe there is a 30% chance the mercury could surpass the current UK record of 38.7C, set in Cambridge in 2019, with fears that it could even move above 40C.
The Met Office has issued an amber extreme heat warning covering much of England and Wales on Sunday and Monday saying there could be a danger to life or potential serious illness, with adverse health effects not just limited to the most vulnerable.
