UK set to be warmer than European tourist hotspots this week

  • London is forecast to reach highs of 24C later this week, making it hotter than Barcelona.
  • This temperature would exceed the current hottest day of the year, which was 20.9C recorded on 18 March.
  • Wednesday is expected to see temperatures of 24C in London and 20C in Manchester, following sunny conditions on Tuesday.
  • The warm spell is predicted to be short-lived, with temperatures in London dropping to 14C by Thursday and below 10C across much of the UK.
  • The upcoming warm weather follows Storm Dave, which caused travel disruption and power outages with snow and strong winds over the Easter weekend.
