A women’s strawweight clash between former Invicta FC champions is in the works for May 14.
Angela Hill and Virna Jandiroba have agreed to face off at the UFC Fight Night event, which does not currently have a location or venue, MMA Junkie has learned.
Two people with knowledge of the matchup informed MMA Junkie of the targeted booking but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. MMA Fighting first reported the news Thursday.
Hill (13-11 MMA, 8-11 UFC) will seek her second win in six fights. She is 1-4 over her most recent five with a victory over Ashley Yoder. However, all four losses in that stretch came by decision – with three by split.
Jandiroba (17-3 MMA, 3-3 UFC), meanwhile, has alternated wins and losses across her past four. Since her UFC debut, Jandiroba defeated Mallory Martin, Felice Herrig, and Kanako Murata, with her losses against Carla Esparza, Mackenzie Dern, and most recently Amanda Ribas.
With the addition, the UFC Fight Night lineup for May 14 includes:
- Lauren Murphy vs. Miesha Tate
- Viviane Araujo vs. Andrea Lee
- Frank Camacho vs. Manuel Torres
- Jamall Emmers vs. Daniel Pineda
- Angela Hill vs. Virna Jandiroba
