UFC contender Paulo Costa has claimed Jake Paul would not "get out breathing" if the pair fought.
Paul has made a name for himself in the combat sports world, particularly with a whole host of UFC stars with whom he has launched feuds in a bid to entice them into boxing bouts. Middleweight contender Costa has become one of the fighters who has taken issue to the YouTuber's time in combat sports after he criticised his performance in his win against Luke Rockhold at UFC 278.
He previously suggested the YouTube star is his "hero" during a series of tweets aimed at Paul, which the content creator has yet to respond too. But in a fresh video, Costa appears to have taken a step too far by making a death threat while showing off his ripped physique in a workout routine.
The Brazilian can be seen throwing a series of punches, while shouting: "Look at that beast. Imagine I chase Jake Paul in the ring like that. Bouncing the head and the chin like Mike Tyson and bam, bam, bam [throws punches]. He's dead bro, he cannot survive." He then added in the caption: "Can you imagine if I chased Jake in that ring? He wouldn't get out breathing."
Costa himself has previously suggested he would be open to a fight with Paul, joining a growing list of stars who could be next in line to take him on including boxing legend Tyson and recent UFC departure Nate Diaz. He previously said: "Jake Paul is very welcome to send an offer and we can do this boxing fight. I don’t know if he wants this blood. I think he wants to fight wrestlers or something like that."
However after becoming offended by the series of insults in relation to his UFC 278 points victory, Costa backtracked on the claims and believes Paul's brother Logan is more influential. He said on the MMA Hour : "Jake Paul has been doing great things. He was just a YouTuber, he came into the fight business and has done great.

"It's a big difference to fight wrestlers from MMA and strikers from MMA, and in my opinion he has avoided these guys [strikers]. He's very smart, he knows to call out guys that he is 100 per cent he can convinced he can beat, Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley. Logan Paul is bigger and is more humble than him, he's a very different guy and I love Logan Paul.
"I understand Jake is doing a great job and of course I'd like to get an easy money with him, but I have a better challenge for him. Mike Perry, he's almost the same weight class. Mike Perry is a savage if Jake wants a real fight."
