Shogun Rua suffered a hilarious fall just days out whilst attempting to do some kick-ups just days out from his fight at UFC 283.
Rua, 41, competes in the final fight of his career which has spanned across two decades when he faces Ihor Potieria this Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The MMA legend is without a win in over two years heading into the fight, losing his last two fights to Paul Craig and Ovince Saint Preux.
Whilst taking part in some fight week obligations, Rua showed off his footballing skills by doing a few kick-ups. But when the Brazilian tried to do a fancy trick to kick the ball up, he briefly lost his footing and fell over the UFC's backdrop which prompted his friend behind the camera to break into hysterics.
Fans have since weighed in on the hilarious clip as one user jokingly wrote: "Shogun is representing our football well right now!" A second user commented: "Must be the wrong trainers" before a third added: "Master always says not to cross feet!".
Fellow MMA legend Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira commented: Jeez, I was going to say what a cracker! Accidents happen" with UFC middleweight Paulo Costa also writing: "Skilful in football too". Bellator champion Patricio Pitbull jokingly wrote: "Maybe if it was a head it would have been better" and former Contender Series fighter Mario Sousa commented: "Soccer is a very dangerous sport lol."

During the prime of his career, Shogun was considered as one of the greatest fighters in the world. The Brazilian knocked out the likes of Alistair Overeem and 'Rampage' Jackson when he competed in the now-defunct Japanese promotion Pride FC. Shogun fought for his first UFC title against Lyoto Machida in 2009, but came up short as he lost a decision.
Shogun was awarded an immediate rematch following his loss to Machida and he knocked out his fellow Brazilian to win the light-heavyweight. He lost in his very first defence as a 23-year-old Jon Jones knocked him out to become the youngest champion in UFC history. Shogun hasn't won a fight since winning a decision against Nogueira in July 2020.
