Tyson Fury reveals big retirement plans after Dillian Whyte: “I want to do a Hollywood movie”

Tyson Fury has revealed his plans for when he retires after claiming his fight against Dillian Whyte will be his last.

The 33-year-old faces Whyte at Wembley on April 23 in a huge all-British heavyweight clash, and it had initially seemed likely that the winner would go on to fight either Anthony Joshua or Oleksandr Usyk in an undisputed bout.

However, Fury insists that he will hang up the boxing gloves after his fight next month, though could well turn his attention elsewhere in the combat world.

“This is my final fight, done,” Fury told BT Sport.

“I’ve done everything I need to do now. I’ve made more money than I can spend in a million lifetimes. Capping it off at the national stadium, 100,000 people and another British opponent - that’ll be me.

“You might see me in a wrestling ring, or in a crossover fight with Francis Ngannou, but this is me with competitive boxing. I’ve been in this game for 14 years, I’ve been punched to pieces. I’ve had it hard.”

Fury is basing his training camp for the Whyte fight in Morecambe, where he lives, and he has no plans to move away from his roots in the future.

As long as he is fighting there is likely to be incredibly lucrative offers coming his way, but Fury insists money is not motivation enough to keep going in the sport.

“The only thing I can gain is money, so after this fight I’ll have earned over £100million,” Fury said.

“If I can spend that, I don’t deserve any more, do I? I know Mike Tyson spent half a billion and Evander Holyfield £400m and all the rest, but I don’t live their big flash lifestyles.

“I live in Morecambe, in Lancashire. It’s cheap there. I don’t have any big habits like I’m gambling tons of money away. I don’t do anything. I can never spend the money I’ve got.

“I’ve got stuff I want to do, a lot of opportunities that don’t involve me getting brain damage. I’ve got six kids and a wife. When is enough enough? Why do I have to be one of those people who went on too long and got injured? Just had one too many fights and blew it all for what? A few more quid?

“I want to retire on top, unbeaten heavyweight champion of the world. I want to do a Netflix documentary, a Hollywood movie, and be a good husband, father and son.

“Most of all I just want to be happy, and that’s probably the hardest thing.”

Before those grand plans of taking over Hollywood, Fury has business to take care of at Wembley and he is predicting a dominant display.

Fury said: “I’m going to knock him out. I’ll tell you the game plan - straight out the blocks, straight to the middle of the ring, push him back.

“Land big, heavy artillery from round one and see how long he can take it for.

“I’ve sparred Dillian Whyte many, many times and every single time I used him as a punching bag. There were times when he couldn’t defend himself and when we had to stop the sparring.”
