Tyson Fury next fight: Bob Arum names surprise contender amid Joshua and Usyk claims

After announcing his retirement U-turn following victory against Dillian Whyte at Wembley in April, Tyson Fury has once more been touted for a future fight by his US promoter Bob Arum, who says he will fight again before the end of 2022 with Joe Joyce a potential opponent for the Gypsy King.

Last week, Fury, 33, declared 'show me the money' when he was asked about his future when speaking to Queensberry productions last week. He said: "When this middleweight (Usyk) knocks out this bodybuilder (Joshua), there’s only gonna be one man isn’t there.

“I am a prize fighter, but it's gonna cost if you want me to do a mission on this middleweight. I'll show you what a real heavyweight does. Then that’s gonna be expensive. We can talk when they have deep pockets!”

Despite the victor in Usyk vs Joshua 2 looking like the most likely opponent for Fury, one more name which has entered the fray is unbeaten Brit and top ranked WBO heavyweight contender Joe Joyce who comes up against Christian Hammer in July, with Top Rank boxing promoter and Fury's US representative Bob Arum saying that a fight against Joyce in October could be likely.

"He's going to fight, he's a fighting man, and I expect Tyson Fury back in the ring before the end of the year." He added. "I think if Joe Joyce wins his fight in early July, Tyson Fury and Joyce at Wembley in early at the beginning of October will do as well if not better - I don't know how you can do better - but as well as the Dillian Whyte fight with Tyson Fury."

"That will lead to a Fury fight against the winner of Joshua and Usyk. I'll do the best I can to make sure that fight takes place in the UK because I don't think it's good for boxing to have a fight like that and putting it in Saudi Arabia."
