Tyson Fury has claimed Conor McGregor attacked him on social media in search of fame and attention.
The 'Gypsy King' shared a back and forth exchange with the Irishman on Twitter who is currently out of UFC action as he continues to recover from a broken leg.
Fury is currently focusing on his preparations for a world title defence against domestic rival Dillian Whyte and is on a social media blackout.
However the 33-year-old has squashed any rumours of "beef" between him and the UFC superstar.
“Super Bowl weekend baby, Super Bowl weekend. It’s a time to grab attention when you need it,” Fury said on the MMA Hour. “There’s no beef between me and Conor McGregor. What beef would he have with me?
"A 150lb guy in a totally different sport, how could he beef with me? It’s not even a thing. Obviously he was trying to reach for a bit of fame on Super Bowl weekend. It’s called Super Bowl weekend fever, everybody gets it!
"They know they can make some headlines and who better to call out than the Big Mac himself. I’ve got no issues at all.”
McGregor has had a history of confronting fighters on social media including his deleted tweets aimed at rival Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier.
Fury has been trying to goad his upcoming opponent Whyte ahead of their clash at Wembley on April 23.
McGregor first replied to a comment from Fury on McGregor's rival Nurmagomedov regarding him retiring undefeated, tweeting: ""Yup the Joyces. Big Joe! U bottled it with Billy Joe Da, what were you doing there ? U Left him, Versace t*** you did nothing."
The comment was made in reference to his belief that Fury should have backed up Billy Joe Saunders' father after he was attacked at his son's fight against Canelo Alvarez.

Fury later made reference to an incident where McGregor was charged for the assault of an elderly man at a Dublin pub.
"Come back when u win a fight mush," he said. "And the difference in me and you is I don’t get myself in trouble and people actually like me, you're just a bully who hit old man."
Fury and McGregor had previously traded words after the heavyweight champion accused the former uFC double-champion of copying his "persona".
The pair could never fight due to the sizeable weight class and the pair have since denied they have even spoken face-to-face.
Although being left confused by Fury's recent dialogue, McGregor said he is willing to "let it roll" because he was a huge fan of the heavyweight champion.
