Tyson Fury confident Dillian Whyte will turn up for fight - even if he "drinks every day"

Tyson Fury is confident Dillian Whyte will show up on fight night - because he won't be able to resist a £6million pay day.

The 'Gypsy King' will defend his WBC title against Whyte on April 23 at Wembley Stadium after his challenger signed the contract hours before the deadline.

Fury faced the media alone on Tuesday after Whyte refused to leave his Portuguese training base.

But the WBC champion is confident his opponent will turn up on fight night and would himself drink "every day" if it meant earning Whyte's £6m purse.

“I am 100 per cent confident; he is getting 32 times his biggest payday so he is definitely coming," Fury told Mirror Fighting . "Only an idiot wouldn’t turn up for that.

"Even if he was out on the drink for every day from now to then he will still turn up. For £6m I would go out drinking all day every day, eat s*** food and still turn up.

"You would have too, wouldn’t you? What would anyone do to get £6m here? Anything. So you would have too."

Fury has been trying to entice Whyte into the rivalry ahead of the fight, but his insult have fallen on deaf ears with the challenger remaining silent and focused on his training.

The 'Gypsy King' is set to earn a record pay day for his heavyweight clash with Whyte, with £25m of the winning fight purse bid going to the champion.

Meanwhile Whyte is still set to earn a career-highest payday despite his protests over earning just 20 per cent of the purse.

Despite being a stern test of Fury's credentials once again, Fury is ever-confident he will reign supreme once again to preserve his undefeated record.

He has given his rival a new nickname after he failed to show for the media event, and is ready to secure victory with "one hand tied behind his back".

"He is called Thrillian Whyteknickers, because he is as soft as what it says in the title," Fury said. "All this social media stuff he has shown his colours today, he gets upset and causes a ruckus, now he has given me that much more confidence.

"He doesn't want to go face to face because he would see the fire in my eyes and know he's getting smashed to bits.

"It is fear and it is terror, it is all of the above and I don’t blame him for not being here. I’d be remanded in a London jail as I would have stretched him.

"Tyson Fury vs his own shadow will sell. I am very confident. I believe that I can beat Dillian Whyte with one hand tied behind my back and one foot off the floor. For me it is just another fight to a milestone.

"I am not interested in how people rate me because when I finish boxing it’s done for me. I have had my five minutes of fame."
