Radio DJ Tyler West has been announced for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The radio DJ, who presents on Kiss FM in the afternoons, was confirmed to be the latest addition on the line-up after two Coronation Street stars - Will Mellor and Kym Marsh - as well as Loose Women presenter Kaye Adams and radio star Richie Anderson, comedian Jayde Adams and Paralympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds were all confirmed.
He was announced as the latest star as he appeared on KISS FM's Breakfast show today, and admitted he was nervous about joining the BBC One Latin and ballroom show, which was won by EastEnders ' actress Rose Ayling-Ellis last year.
Speaking about his stint on the show, he said: "I am so gassed to be joining the Strictly family! As I started writing this I already got cramp. It’s going to be one crazy incredible journey which will no doubt be SO far outside my comfort zone. It’s a show that means so much to me and my family and I can’t wait to seriously shake a leg on that shiny dance floor… with a side of sequins."
It comes after Loose Women panellist Kaye signed up for the show and asked fans to "pray for her".
"I said I wanted to make the last year of my fifties memorable and I can’t think of a better way of doing it than showing the world my two left feet. Pray for me!" she said in a statement.
Speaking about it on the ITV lunchtime show last Friday, she added: "Actually it’s quite funny because I’m terrified, I’m absolutely terrified because as Nadia very kindly says, as a supportive friend does - ‘Let’s face it, you can’t dance’, which is true. It’s true!
"I’ll be a journey [on the show]. I’ll be honest with you, I can think of a million reasons not to do this and I can still think of a million reasons not to do this and when these gorgeous dancers came on, I nearly exited from both ends of my body, honestly. Sorry about that! But I thought, ‘Am I going to be thinking at the end of September I wish I’d done this.'"
She shared: "I’m 59, 60 at the end of this year and I was like, ‘Well, why not?' I’m a really competitive person and Nadia, you know that’s true but in this I’m not. If I enjoy myself, I’ll be so happy."
Radio 2 star Richie also signed up to the show on Friday, and will dance in all-male partnership.
He said: "This is a dream come true! I cannot wait to get in those sparkles and sequins and shimmy across the most famous dance floor in the world! Strictly is the ultimate feel good show, as soon as I hear that iconic theme tune it’s just pure escapism.
"I’m going to have to cancel my legendary Strictly launch night kitchen party that I throw every year, I’m sure my friends and family will understand. It’s also a massive honour to be part of an all-male dance partnership, it’s so important we have that inclusion on such a huge show."
