A two-year-old child was found wandering the streets alone in Paisley last night.
The vulnerable tot was spotted by concerned passers-by near to Maxwellton Street shortly before 9pm.
Police were contacted before the toddler was collected and taken to safety.
Officers say the child is now “safe and well” following the incident.

Inspector Laura Hamill, of Paisley’s community policing team, said: “We were made aware of an incident involving a child around 8.45pm on Sunday, January 16.
“The child has been traced safe and well.”
A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed that a man had been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
