  • Two U.S. soldiers are missing in Morocco during joint U.S.-African military exercises, prompting an extensive five-day search operation.
  • The soldiers vanished last week near the Cap Draa training area outside Tan-Tan and are believed to have fallen into the Atlantic Ocean during a recreational hike.
  • Over 600 military personnel from the U.S., Morocco, and other African Lion participants are involved in the search, covering more than 17 square miles of coastal and open-ocean areas.
  • One soldier, who could not swim, fell into the ocean, and a second soldier entered the water to attempt a rescue but was also swept away by a wave.
