Two incredible Scottish restaurants have been named among the best in the UK by a top travel magazine.
Condé Nast Traveller featured 18 restaurants from across the UK in its roundup of the top eateries for the best dining experience, from buzzy new eateries to established names that have stood the test of time. The list, which was curated by the magazine's editors, features "spaces that push the boundaries of cooking".
The two Scottish restaurants to be named in the article are Inver at Loch Fyne and Killiecrankie House in Perthshire.
The former is a small and characterful spot on the west coast of the country that serves up simple but immaculate seafood, and native meat and game in season. Situated in a former crofter's cottage and boat store, there is an air of authenticity at Inver that beautifully complements the food.
The restaurant also offers some of the best views in the country to take in while you enjoy your meal. Located on the shores of the loch, you can look out towards the mountains, the sea, and the Western Isles.
Meanwhile, Killiecrankie House is a fine dining establishment located in the stunning Cairngorms National Park. Guests are served a single set menu at dinner from Wednesday to Saturday, while a short tasting menu is also available at lunchtime on Saturdays.
The "adventurous" and "seafood-heavy" menu blends old and new, bringing classic Scottish dishes up to date with flair. It is complemented by two types of drinks pairings, as well as a non-alcoholic pairing of teas, infusions and soft cocktails.
More information about the restaurants featured on the list can be found on the Condé Nast Traveller website.
