A large gang of young people have been terrorising a town and assaulting teenagers.
Police introduced new powers to Ellesmere Port after officers received multiple reports of a large gang of youths committing anti-social behaviour throughout the town centre and in Whitby Park. The gang is also believed to have been involved in the assaults of two 13 year old boys.
The first assault happened in the town centre at around 6.30pm, when a 13 year old boy was assaulted. Less than an hour later the gang is believed to have done the same to another boy, also 13.

Both boys sustained minor injuries as a result of the attacks.
A dispersal order has been imposed on the town under section 34 of the Anti-social behaviour, crime and policing act 2014. The order allows officers to order people to leave the area and makes it an offence for them to return within 48 hours.
The order will be in place until one minute past midnight tonight.
Chief Inspector Paul Fegan, head of Ellesmere Port Local Policing Unit, said: “Due to ongoing anti-social behaviour here in Ellesmere Port by a small minority of young people, we have had we have put in these extra measures in place to deter this behaviour and reassure people that we are taking this seriously.
“This type of behaviour will not be tolerated; our communities should not be disrupted by anti-social behaviour. Every resident has the right to feel safe in their neighbourhoods yet a small minority are disrupting this.
“I would urge anyone who witnesses or feels that they have been subjected to anti-social behaviour to report this to us by calling 101 or reporting it via our website so that we can investigate further."
