Two rushed to Edinburgh hospital as three-car smash shuts city centre road

Two people have been rushed to hospital in Edinburgh after a collision on a city centre road.

Emergency services raced to the scene on Dalry Road on Sunday evening after reports of a three-car-crash on the busy thoroughfare.

Taking place just a short distance away from the A70 junction, images show the collision involving a taxi and two other cars.

Occurring at around 8.45pm, both the taxi and another red car were seen to have suffered significant damage to the front of the vehicles.

In a statement, police confirmed that two individuals had been taken to hospital as a result of the incident, with the road now reopened to traffic.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a crash involving three vehicles on Dalry Road in Edinburgh around 8.45pm on Sunday, 13 February.

"Two people were taken to hospital and the road was fully cleared by around 11.25pm after the vehicles were recovered."
