Two guinea pigs left for dead outside Woodthorpe church

Two guinea pigs have been left for dead outside a church in Woodthorpe. The former pets were found shaking in fear without any food or water.

The pair was left in the open inside a cage without food and water at St Mark’s Church in Longridge Road in Woodthorpe, near Nottingham, on the evening of June 30. The animals were spotted by a local resident who took them home and fed them before she contacted the RSPCA.

RSPCA inspector Annette Della-Porter went to the woman’s home to collect the abandoned pets. After they were health checked, inspector Pam Bird transported the pair to RSPCA Derby and District Branch where they have been named Marzipan and Marmite.
