One modern practice is for buildings to light up in team colors following a big win from one of their college or pro sports teams.
Of course, when a building is lighting up in the colors of a rival, it generates plenty of discussion.
Such was the case when the Empire State Building — one of the prime symbols of New York City — on Sunday night was adorned in green following the Philadelphia Eagles’ 31-7 win over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game at Lincoln Financial Field. It wasn’t even like there was a mistake; the Empire State Building’s official Twitter account even emphasized that they were celebrating the big win for the Giants’ arch rivals.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. Who made that decision & who is the person that put that person in the position to make that decision? Fire them both.

Not sure who came up with this idea but in case they didn’t know the Eagles have no place in NYC. Anywhere, anyhow, anyway. This is just embarrassing.
