The Houston Texans have had their fair share of moral victories for the past three seasons. However, Week 9 at NRG Stadium provided a statement win.
Rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud threw a 15-yard touchdown to receiver Tank Dell to push the Texans ahead 39-37 and beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday. Stroud threw for 470 yards and five touchdowns as the Texans improve to 4-4 on the season.
The Texans were dealing with issues of their own. Try kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn getting knocked out of the game with a quad injury and backup running back Dare Ogunbowale having to fill in.
