The Chargers and wide receiver Mike Williams agreed to a three-year deal worth $60 million.
Here’s a compilation of social media posts regarding Williams’ contract extension announcement.
The Mike Williams deal locks in a defensive prospect for the Chargers in round one.
I saw Olave or Jamo as good fits, but I think both would have played in the slot anyway.
Get the players that match Staley’s defensive philosophy first. Then find a separator later in the draft.

Signing Mike Williams to that deal doesn't make it easier to bring back Kyzir White and/or Uchenna Nwosu BUT giving him a lower 2022 cap hit than the franchise tag cap hit does give them some extra room to squeeze those guys back in.

The Chargers strike a deal in the final hours before the franchise tag deadline and Mike Williams cashes in on his career year.
Whether you’re a fan of the deal or not, the Chargers have locked up a major part of the offense for the next three seasons. https://t.co/3zueuUleXv

For those who think Telesco never goes after big free agents (we'll set aside the fact that he signed Linsley last year), does signing Mike Williams count?
He'd be considered a big free agent, so we just signed him instead of him going out and being that for another team. pic.twitter.com/ybI9kN86Mz

Don’t see as a chargers fan being upset we resigned Mike Williams. Year 1 is only an overpay in a year the chargers can afford it. Also changes the draft strategy to go all in on defense. This is a great signing given the chemistry between Herbert, Allen and Mike

I watched Mike Williams break his neck right in front of me in college and nobody knew if he would ever play football again. What a comeback. So dang happy for @darealmike_dub 🥲 https://t.co/bNHf7GyJlc

Mike Williams was a lot less impressive last season if you take away all the games where he did good

The thing about Mike Williams is he can still improve on his game. Yes he’s good, but he hasn’t yet reached his ceiling. Lets hope we get to watch his game evolve over the next 3 years.
