Twitter introduces major change as users can combine photos and videos in one tweet

Twitter has announced a major change which will allow users to mix their media in posts.

Previously users could post up to four photos in a tweet, a video, or a GIF, but could not create a tweet with a combination of media. However, this has changed as the tech giant has announced that users will be able to combine photos, videos and GIFs in one tweet

The update is already being rolled out on both iOS and Android devices. The company said in a blog post that users sometimes need more than one kind of media to express themselves.

Their announcement read: "Get ready to mix it up with visuals on Twitter. You can now add a combination of media to your Tweet on Android and iOS.

"That means you can include a photo, GIF, and video (or two!) all in the same Tweet. Tap the photo icon in the Tweet composer to start mixing your media."

Fans were excited about the new development, with one posting: "Thank you Twitter I’ve had fun using it all day," while a second said: "Yeah I am enjoying it".

A third joked: "Thank you our little bird friend".

However another user asked about another highly anticipated update, tweeting: "WHEN ARE U GONNA DROP THE EDIT BUTTON?!???!"

The company announced that they are currently testing an edit button last month in a tweet that read: "if you see an edited Tweet it's because we're testing the edit button. this is happening and you'll be okay"

The news comes just after billionaire Elon Musk sent a letter to the tech firm agreeing to pay the price he offered to takeover the company in April. The businessman initially tried to quit the deal, leading to Twitter suing Mr Musk to force the takeover.
