Twitter appears to have gone down for many users in many parts of the world during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Downdetector showed a huge spike in reports of problems in the UK, with the social media website and app from around 1am in the morning. The problem seems to mainly be affecting people using twitter via the website and a computer - but did not affect all users who were doing so.
Downdetector said the chart below "shows a view of problem reports submitted in the past 24 hours compared to the typical volume of reports by time of day". "It is common for some problems to be reported throughout the day. Downdetector only reports an incident when the number of problem reports is significantly higher than the typical volume for that time of day. "
Twitter, which was recently bought by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, is yet to comment on why users have been experiencing issues. Twitter user Sableshade said: "Twitter went down on PC tonight. Time for self care."
Caramel Jenkins tweeted: "Ok so PC Twitter is down. I thought my internet was funky."
And Drunk3PO tweeted: "Is Twitter down on PC? It works on my cell just fine. But on my computer I keep getting this..."
