A vile couple subjected their helpless dog to months of abuse before stuffing him inside a suitcase and dumping him by a river. Chantelle Duvall-Gregory and Christy Carl-Hewitt punched, kicked and stamped on two-year-old Belgian shepherd Snoop, a court has heard.
The pair had left poor Snoop with “extensive bruising and fractures to the ribs”, Liverpool Magistrates Court heard. Snoop was eventually found dead inside a pink suitcase, which had been left by the banks of the River Mersey.
Prosecuting, Pete Mitchell told the court it was clear the injuries sustained were “non-accidental”. The rib fractures were determined to be six to eight weeks old as they had begun to heal, the Liverpool Echo reports.
