A pair of twins who married another set of twins in a joint ceremony are now all living in one home and raising their identical children - who are both cousins and brothers - together.
Brittany and Briana Deane, 35, gave birth to children from Jeremy and Josh Salyers, 38, who became biological siblings — and have since decided to bring them up with four parents.
Brittany gave birth to Jett, who turned one in January, while Briana had Jax who passed the same birthday a few months later in April.
But despite the time between the two births, they are technically " quartenary twins " - meaning they're cousins and genetic brothers because of their DNA.
The unusual arrangement follows the twin sisters realising their lifelong dream of marrying twins themselves, which they had vowed to do ever since they were children growing up in the US state of Delaware.
Brittany and Briana say they had even decided that they " just wouldn’t get married” if they couldn’t find twins to wed.
But love finally blossomed after they both met the twin brothers at t he annual Twins Days Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio back in in 2017, with Brittany tying the knot with Josh and Briana with Jeremy when they returned to the event three years later.
Brittany and Josh then welcomed their first son Jett in January 2021, with Jax being born to the other couple four months later. Their sons are biological brothers thanks to their shared genes, becoming one of less than 300 recorded cases of “quaternary twins”
The four parents have since opted to raise the children in one large family, with a hit video on social media showing Jett saying he has "two dadas" and "two mothers".
Explaining their decision to pursue an alternative family structure to the Washington Post, Brittany said: "Technically, Josh and I are the parents of baby Jett. I gave birth to Jett.
"But really Jett has four biological parents because Briana and I share DNA. Josh and Jeremy share DNA. So we are raising baby Jett as though he has four parents.
"It seemed like a perfect next step because it really does take a pair of twins to understand the special relationship of twins.”
The family, who appeared on a US reality show named Extreme Sisters last year, previously hailed their marriages as "magical" and a "dream come true", with the support provided by always having three people to turn to making "life's trials less lonely and brighter".
They have also opted to keep it in the family when it comes to making a living, with the two dads operating a lakeside wedding venue in Virginia while Brittany and Briana both work alongside each other at the same law firm.
Both couples now hope to have more children, with the latest dream being that at least one of them gives birth to another set of twins.
