It's a great feeling when you're tanned and glowing on a night out - and if you haven't soaked up much sun for a while, faking it is better for your skin anyway.
But any fake tan lover will know the dreaded horror when you accidentally go overboard and end up looking like you've been tangoed.
Orange hands, feet and knees are unsightly and rather embarrassing - and sometimes the stain just won't budge no matter how hard you try.
But two savvy users reckon they're found the perfect trick - and it likely won't cost you a penny to try for yourself, as all you need are two common household items.

The Hondrouts twins, who are self-proclaimed 'fake tanning Queens', have shared their trick on TikTok - and it might surprise you.
According to the twins, using salt and shampoo can scrub off the stubborn stains and leave your skin tan-free underneath.
They were given that trick by one of their followers and decided to try it out.

"OKAY if you’re a fake tanner STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND WATCH!!!" they wrote.
As they filmed themselves trying out the process, they said: "Tune in because this is probably the best hack we’ve ever tried.
"Going on with our awesome fake tan hand routine. Get salt and shampoo, watch this.
"Just with how it rubs together I know it’s going to work brilliantly, better than whitening toothpaste."
They continued: "Look at that. I could literally take my whole fake tan off with this.

"It’s awesome. This is the best one yet."
In the video, the twins scrubbed the salt and shampoo on to their orange-stained hands.
Sure enough, the colour starts to shift immediately, and by the end their hands are back to normal.
"Wow," commented one impressed user.
"Omg this could actually save so much time," added another.

A third commented: "Life changer."
Someone who might need to use this trick is the woman who, unfortunately "turned into Shrek" when her tanning product went green.
During an at-home pamper session, 25-year-old Devon Birkett slapped on a layer of St Moriz mousse in a Darker than Dark shade before cosying up to watch telly.
Two hours later, she realised with horror that her feet had gone khaki.
Startled, Devon rushed to look in the mirror and quickly realised that her face, hands, arms, legs, and feet had turned a decidedly less than glamorous shade of ogre-green.x
Of course, this was absolutely not the look Devon was aiming for, and she couldn't jump in the shower quickly enough.
Thankfully, she was able to hose herself off pretty well after a 20-minute scrub, resulting in a fairly "normal tan " with only the slightest "tinge of green" to it.
Devon said: "I'm naturally quite pale - like a ghost. I like to fake tan as it makes me feel more confident with it on, I like getting a bit of a golden glow.
"I go through stages of tanning, sometimes I won't tan for a little while but the majority of the time I'll tan once a week.
"I was going out the next day with friends and I wanted to look nice - instead, I ended up green."
