If tonight’s Casualty had a salacious headline, it would be ‘Secrets and Lies – Exposed!’ To start with, Rida turns detective after finding sunglasses belonging to Jodie’s mystery lover. And Jessica Fletcher she ain’t. Overhearing Dylan complain about his lost sunnies, he then becomes her prime suspect…
Meanwhile, Jodie’s actual hook-up, Ryan, does some exposing (careful now) of his own. He tells Stevie that Max is letting her take the rap for Jodie’s recent medical mistake. But the biggest exposé of them all occurs when Iain lifts the lid (quite literally – the pills are stashed in a toilet cistern) on Faith’s (Kirsty Mitchell) addiction…

The Year Britain Burned, 9 pm, Channel 5
The days of tabloids’ gleeful ‘Phew! What a scorcher!’ headlines are in the past as we view successive heatwaves and record temperatures with increasing alarm. Last year was the hottest year ever in the UK, and as the thermometer edged towards 400C, there was also a drought.
This documentary looks back at the period when thousands of dangerous wildfires broke out across the country and fire services dealt with an unprecedented number of incidents. With contributions from meteorologist Clare Nasir and Countryfile’s Adam Henson.

As this year’s festival continues, today’s highlights include Lewis Capaldi and Lizzo (9pm, BBC One), Guns N’ Roses (10pm, BBC Two), Tom Grennan and Aitch (7pm, BBC Three) and Manic Street Preachers and Fatboy Slim (from 9pm, BBC Four). Other artists playing today include Lana Del Ray, Paul Carrack, Christine and the Queens and Melanie C – check BBC iPlayer for coverage throughout the day. Highlights of the festival, which ends tomorrow, can be seen on Friday (11.05pm, BBC Two).

Michael McIntyre's The Wheel, 6:25 pm, BBC One
The comedian hosts the Saturday-night gameshow, in which contestants take on a colossal spinning wheel and answer questions in the hope of securing a cash prize. Tonight's expert celebrity advice comes from Dermot O'Leary on fish, Nicola Adams on boxing, Alexander Armstrong on classical music, Denise Van Outen on the 1990s, Olly Smith on wine, Gloria Hunniford on Hollywood icons, and Rhys Stephenson on children's TV.

Black Mirror season 6, Netflix
It’s four years since we last saw Charlie Brooker’s tech-based anthology series – and now it’s back for series six. There’s a great cast, with Aaron Paul and Josh Hartnett starring in an episode called Beyond the Sea set in 1969 about two men on a hi-tech mission, while British stars John Hannah and Monica Dolan’s story sees them in a Scottish town with dark secrets. Other stars include Industry’s Myha’la Herrold, plus Paapa Essiedu, Annie Murphy and Salma Hayek Pinault.

Best film on TV tonight
Fantastic Mr Fox, 3 pm, Film4
Wes Anderson’s latest release, Asteroid City, is in cinemas this week, but fans can see one of his most popular films, Fantastic Mr Fox, this afternoon. The stop-motion animation stars George Clooney and Meryl Streep as the voices of Mr and Mrs Fox, with a wonderful supporting cast including Michael Gambon and Jarvis Cocker, plus Anderson stalwarts Bill Murray, Willem Dafoe and Owen Wilson.
